Note, you do need your own sewing machine and basic sewing supplies (pins, scissors, rotary cutter, cutting mat etc.) to complete the projects. I wish we could send everyone brand new machines! Wouldn’t that be awesome!

The HomeMade Virtual Sewing weekend is a chance for you to meet, socialize and create with other sewers in a whole new way.
HomeMade is a 3-day Virtual Sewing Event from March 26-28, 2021. Whether you’ve got your own sewing space or use the kitchen table you’ll feel the camaraderie with sewers across the world who you’ll meet in the HomeMade Virtual Sewing Room! Our Virtual Sewing room on Facebook will allow us to congregate and create together, take the classes together, post our makes and share our stories! It’s a whole new way to come together.
Registering for this event will give you access to 4 BRAND NEW inspiring classes taught by an all-star lineup of renowned sewers! (See class descriptions & instructors below) The weekend will feature cool product demos and mind blowing talks on some of sewings most confusing topics, like – ‘which thread for job? Is that the right needle? and stabilizers, what stabilizer should I choose?! Joining us at this event will be experts from Janome, Figo Fabrics, June Tailor, Sulky, OLFA and more! We’ll also have many incredible guests ( even a surprise keynote address!) joining us throughout the weekend to share inspiration and tips with you, exclusive shopping opportunities, prizes, giveaways, some exclusive attendee gifts, make ‘n’ takes and so much more!
Once you’ve completed the registration process you’ll be invited to our private Virtual Sewing Room on Facebook. The Virtual Sewing Room is for registered attendees only. This is where we will host event challenges, feature guests, offer prizes and giveaways, an unboxing or sewing goodies and so much more! No Facebook? Don’t worry. ALL class videos will be streamed on YouTube with the instructor live with you throughout the class—making it feel like an interactive, one-on-one experience that you will love from the privacy of your own home.
Each class will be approximately 90-120 minutes in length. The goal is to finish as much of the project as you can. However you’ll have access to the video class for 1-year. So no rush!

This event is open to all levels of sewers. Participants will need to use their own sewing machine and a confident beginners knowledge of how to thread your machine, wind your bobbin and do some basic trouble shooting if you run into difficultly. The classes will be delivered in a way that you can pause if you need to break for any reason. The projects are tailored so that beginners will feel confident with the instructors guidance and more advanced sewers will love the exclusive patterns, new products and the chance to spread their sewing wings with like minded friends.
You’ll leave the weekend with a full heart and a bigger sewing tool box, be a more confident sewer (we hope!) and have made a whole lot of new sewing friends.

I am Michael Gardner, a proud Father, self-taught sewist, life-long crafter and DIY enthusiast. I began my sewing journey in 2014. I wanted a way to bond with my daughter while looking for a new creative challenge and I created Daddy Dressed Me by Michael Gardner. My mission is to help Ava build her self-esteem and establish confidence in herself and her abilities. I sew the clothes and Ava models. I started sewing by thrifting women’s clothing and refashioning the clothes for Ava.

If you’ve got a serger, chances are you could get to know each other a bit better! Raven Maureen will walk you through a simple Pencil Skirt serger project. You’ll get tips and tricks helping your understand your serger, choosing the right knits, stitch sizes and take you through how to install elastic using your serger. In-the-Hoop Class with Liz Thompson
Get to know your embroidery machine with “in-the-hoop” projects. In this add-on machine embroidery class you will learn about choosing the correct stabilizer for your project; how to hoop up successfully; and hints and tips about how to achieve beautiful embroidery stitch-outs. In this class you’ll make very cute in-the-hoop embroidery projects. This is also an opportunity to ask your machine embroidery questions which Liz Thompson will answer in real time. In the hoop projects are a great way to create more than just images and monograms with your embroidery machine!
For this class you need an embroidery machine with USB capabilities and a minimum hoop size of 5×7 inches. (a 4×4 or 4×5 inch hoop is too small). After this class you’ll be creating in-the-hoop projects non-stop!

If you have an old family recipe written out and stored away, get it out! This class will help you turn that loved one’s handwriting into one-of-a-kind embroidery stitches. Jennifer Tryon will teach you how to turn handwriting into stitches using the Janome Accu-sketch App. All you need is a photo of the recipe (or whatever hand writing you’d like to embroider onto a tea towel)
Prior to this class, you’ll need to download the FREE Janome Acusketch App into an iPad. (iPad ONLY)
For this class you’ll need a Janome Embroidery an iPad and an apple pencil or stylus. You’ll truly have the ability to create something lovely and one-of-a-kind in and after this class.
Perfect for anyone with a Janome Embroidery Machine lthe 200e, 230e 400e, 400e, 500e and any of the Janome Embroidery machines with wifi ….. I will show you how you can use the Janome App Ackusketch to do the Handwriting Embroidery Project. You don’t have to have a wifi machine.

Kim Jamieson-Hirst is the quilter behind Chatterbox Quilts and creator of online quilting programs and courses.
