When crafting a wreath you don’t immediately think fabric. More like, pine cones or sprigs of pine….even burlap & yarn, like I did a while back.
But I thought when the Jewel Patchwork dies formed a circle it looked like a wreath, so I thought, how about a door hanging, a quilted wreath door hanging.
I got an early buy on these V & Co. fabrics at Fall Quilt Market last year. I love the Ombre Bloom bundle and Vanessa the designer in the Moda booth was an absolute treat!
Fat Quarters work perfect for die cutting because, there’s no sub-cutting needed you just fold the fat quarter over 4 times and the die cuts through all eight layers.
Like Hexagons, you’ll need to know how to sew a “Y” Seam to sew the Jewels together.
It comes down to sewing a quarter inch seam allowance and leaving a 1/4 inch at either end of the seam, allowing room for the Next seam.
The Patchwork Jewel Dies Patchwork Dies coming to HSN Sept 10th.
