In Tutorials, Cards

Hey everyone!

Some viewers in our Wednesday night LIVE Craft session on the Crafter’s Companion Facebook Page were wondering about how and where to fold a standard piece of 8.5 x 11 card stock to make some of the more intricate or “fancy” cards. So I’ve whipped up a little video.

Now, all of these folds are most easily accomplished with The Ultimate, where all the measuring is done for you.  However, if you don’t have one download the FREE PRINTABLE guides below for three of the most common –uncommon card folds.

The stepper card which folds up like this:

This is decorated version of a stepper card. It takes 3 score/fold lines for it to stand like this.

Next is a Gatefold Card.

Next is the Easel Fold Card.

An Easel fold card requires two separate pieces of cardstock. One folded into the easel base, and another (the card from) to be adhered to the base.

    Hi!

On the Gatefold measurements: I typically use the half-sheet of stock for these. What would be the measurements for scoring and folding? They always seem to rub in the middle, so I am not getting the numbers right. This information should certainly help! TIA

Thank you so much Mrs Jennifer. I absolutely love the gatefold and the stepper cards. But I’ve always struggled with the stepper. Hope to see more sewing and fabric classes soon. Happy crafting to you and everyone else.
